HOT SPRINGS- PERSONAL POST

Obviously, we're primarily wedding photographers and filmmakers, but we love to photograph random personal days. We decided we're going to start sharing our personal, adventure days on our blog and show you all the things, places, and people we love!

We're so grateful for friends, like Ashley, who explore and adventure with us (not to mention let us take a million pictures of them). My favorite thing since moving to Boise is experiencing all of the beautiful nature around us. Drive an hour in any direction from Boise and you're in a unique, gorgeous spot! Our goal for 2018 is to travel and unplug as much as possible.

This day was absolutely perfect. It started off driving drinking La Croix's and listening to Kendrick Lamar, Porches, and Pinegrove (don't need much more than that)! We pulled along the side of the road in Garden Valley to snap a few photos and take in the scenery. We then kept venturing down towards Banks Lowman road to our favorite hot springs at Pine Flats campground. This location inspired our whole rebranding and naming our company Thistle & Pine Creative. There's nothing more we love in the world than being in the desert or mountains with pine trees for miles- reconnecting our souls to isolation in nature.

Unfortunately, somebody destroyed our favorite hot springs pool. Make sure to follow the "leave no trace behind" rule. Somebody moved all of the rocks around and it's extremely saddening. There's a beautiful waterfall where the water used to collect into a pool, but no more. We still had a great day in another pool, but it's upsetting when people don't respect nature.

Besides the beauty, the reason this is one of my favorite hot springs is because Adam took me there the first time I came to visit him in Boise. I'd never seen a river in my life. It was the most beautiful place I had ever been, at the time. We stayed in the hot springs for hours talking about anything and everything and soaking in the scenery. We stayed out past dark and just sat staring at the stars. Needless to say, one of the most romantic nights of my life! I absolutely fell head over heels for Idaho and knew I'd be coming back some day. I love having special locations like this to revisit at a different time in my life all the while reminiscing and reflecting on past visits. (Also, been DYING to take engagement pictures here! *wink wink* )
